  1. What is the duration of your storage unit rental lease?

We rent our storage units on a month-to-month contract.

  1. Do you accept credit card payments?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards and you have the option to automatically withdraw your payment each month.  We also accept cash, check or money order.  Payments can be mailed to Ames Central Storage, P.O. Box 2344, Ames, IA 50010.

  1. Do we need insurance for our belongings in the storage unit?

While it is not required, we highly recommend you do so.  We do not insure your personal items in the storage unit should they become damaged or stolen.

  1. Is the one-month deposit refundable?

The deposit will be returned after you move out, the unit is clean and the key, lock and access security card have been returned.

  1. Do you provide locks for the storage units?

Yes, we provide the locks.

  1. What temperature are the units kept at?

The temperature ranges is kept between 65 and 75 degrees.

  1. Do you have space for RVs, campers and boats?

Yes, we have outdoor space large enough to accommodate a variety of boat trailer and RV sizes.  Call 515-291-7233 for more information.

  1. What if I lose my key or building access card?

Please call us ASAP so we can deactivate the lost building access card and get a replacement for you.  However, there will be a fee for this.  To replace a lost lock, it is $40, to replace a lost key, it is $20 and to replace a lost building access card, it is $20.

  1. Do you have equipment to help us move items into the units?

Yes, we have flat carts, dolleys and furniture carts that you are welcome to use.
